Small Group/Family Devotions - Season of Pentecost / Trinity  

 

 

 

 

Leader: In the Name of the Father and the + Son and the Holy Spirit. 

All:      Amen

       

            -SILENT PRAYER-_­­­

 

Leader: The Lord be with you.

      All: And with your spirit.

 

Psalm 139:1-12 (ESV) 

Leader: O Lord, you have searched me and known me!

All: You know when I sit down and when I rise up; you discern my thoughts from afar.

Leader: You search out my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways

All: Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.

Leader: You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me.

All: Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high; I cannot attain it.

Leader: Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?

All: If I ascend to heaven, you are there! If I make my bed in Sheol, you are there!

Leader: If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,

All: even there your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me.

Leader: If I say, "Surely the darkness shall cover me, and the light about me be night,"

All: even the darkness is not dark to you; the night is bright as the day,

        for darkness is as light with you.

Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit.  As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

 

 

Leader:   A reading from John 7:37-39, 15:26-27 (ESV) 

 

    On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out, "If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink.  Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, 'Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.' "Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

    "But when the Helper comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth, who proceeds from the Father, he will bear witness about me.  And you also will bear witness, because you have been with me from the beginning.

Leader:   This is the Word of the Lord

Leader: The almighty and merciful God, the Father, the Son and
